As Socotra Island’s only luxury travel company, we deliver wonderful, stylish, mobile camps, set in pristine and beautiful environs. We have access to spellbinding and remote, completely private camp locations, on wild beaches and on high mountain plateaus.
Bedroom Tents - Our private bedroom tents have comfortable mattresses, wonderful cotton sheets, Arabian rugs, vivid colours and carefully chosen furnishings.
Bathroom Tents - Our tented bathrooms have hot showers open to the skies, sumptuous cotton towels and luxurious toiletries.
Majilis - Guests can enjoy relaxing in the central ‘Majlis’, with shade, rugs and cushions and a small, carefully chosen, Soqotri library, alongside the majilis dining tent. Only solar light, candles, oil lamps and fires are used, to blend in with the natural environment.
Food - Dinner is a magical experience served under the stars, beside a crackling fire and at a properly laid table, replete with glasses, china crockery and linen tablecloths. Our private chefs prepare delicious Soqotri and Yemeni dishes (famously amongst the best cuisine in the Middle East), as well as dishes from the wider Middle East, North Africa and Mediterranean, all using local ingredients and freshly prepared in camp. Fish is plentiful, fabulously fresh and delicious on Socotra and all types, including shell fish, frequently feature on our menus. Our highly professional, internationally experienced staff and chefs provide our guests with a very high standard of comfort. We offer bespoke, pre-designed menus inspired by our guests’ preferences and wonderful picnics.
Camp Activities - We have a fishing boat and a local fishing guide available at our beach camp, as well as fishing rods, fins, masks. snorkels and paddle boards. On request, guests can also go scuba diving in the fantastic coral reefs or ancient shipwrecks. Also on request we can arrange flights in gyrocopters and we regularly incorporate helicopters in our itineraries for an additional fee. There is a telescope, binoculars and also games available, We have excellent relationships with the local communities with whom we work and support. Clients with an interest in delving deeper into the Socotri life and culture can have the opportunity to meet with folklore experts, local sheikhs, macoli or shamen, musicians and dancers.
